Two Generals Deploy to New Hampshire on "Peacemaking" Mission

June 20, 2007

Keene, NH - Two retired military leaders will brief New Hampshire residents this week on what they feel are the correct ways to wind down the Iraq war. In town hall-style meetings, retired generals John Johns and Robert Gard will discuss what they call New Hampshire's role in securing a responsible Iraq exit strategy with voters, in Manchester on Thursday and in Keene on Friday.

Anne Miller with the group New Hampshire Peace Action says the meetings will take up a subject that isn't being adequately addressed.

"There hasn't been enough dialogue about what these responsible exit strategies from Iraq are, and we should be having grassroots conversations about that."

Miller says the conversation is something that Granite Staters are eager to have. Her organization is co-sponsoring the event, along with religious groups and creators of the Web site,
