Albuquerque, NM – Puede que la economía se encuentre sombría, pero expertos en el área del consumidor dicen que con tan solo mantener un buen ojo a nuestra chequera puede ayudar a pasar esta temporada de fiestas sin dañar nuestras finanzas personales.

Kim Danger, quien creó el sitio del Internet Mommysavers.com dice que una de las trampas en las que suelen caer los consumidores en esta temporada es en la de pagar todo con plástico. Toma datos de estudios en los cuales se demuestra que el consumidor termina gastando dos veces más utilizando su tarjeta de crédito o débito de lo que se gastaría si pagara en efectivo.

"Al usar solo efectivo, en verdad le vemos una cara física a los gastos. Uno esta menos propenso a dar todo su efectivo y más propenso a quedar dentro de un presupuesto. Así que esta acción ayuda a ahorrar al consumidor."

También sugiere el mantener una actitud positiva con los hijos al hablar con ellos de la necesidad de tener que comprar menos regalos y enfocar estas celebraciones alrededor de tradiciones familiares.

"Creo que los niños entienden el concepto de que existe una cantidad fija de dinero al alcance de toda la familia. Así que uno no tiene que sentirse culpable por apretarse el cinturón con sus regalos. Porque en verdad lo que los niños quieren más que nada es nuestro tiempo compartido con ellos."

Danger dice que gastar sensiblemente durante la temporada de fiestas puede ayudar a que transformemos el endeudarnos con muchos gastos durante poco tiempo a ahorros a largo plazo y así, en términos de finanzas, estar sin deuda y con ahorros para el año entrante.
