Employment

Public News Service is an equal opportunity employer committed to supporting a diverse, inclusive and collaborative work environment for everyone and occasionally seeks highly qualified candidates to join our team of dedicated social entrepreneurs. The PNS team is full of self-starters who can follow established protocols while also creatively approaching challenges, have a sense of humor and work well with different personalities in a rapidly changing environment. Our goal is to foster an environment of equity and equality both internally and externally, and we recognize that it takes transformational change. Whether our differences are visible or private, all are welcome. We thrive on our differences and celebrate all the life experiences our employees bring to the newsroom.

If you would like us to have your resume on file, you are invited to e-mail it to

Public News Service is growing and seeking a National Sales and Outreach Manager to provide strategic guidance and increase our reporting capacity by expanding our membership, developing new media partnerships, and seeking new funding opportunities in selected states. This person is someone who is well connected in the national NGO/nonprofit sector, with at least 10 years of experience in sales to or fundraising from that sector. Public News Service is a fully remote company, but this position will be expected to conduct regular in-person meetings in and around Washington, D.C., so the successful candidate should live in the DMV area. Generally, this position operates in normal business hours but is expected to travel ~25% of time and attend events, conferences and meetings that may be outside of normal office hours. This is a highly self-directed position, so a nose for opportunity, flexibility to adjust to changing circumstances, and a vivacious personality are necessary.
