NASHVILLE, Tenn. – No es asunto de organización solamente, sino también de seguridad; ante la cercanía de la primavera, mucha gente de Tennessee se dispone a hacer limpieza. Para quienes brindan servicios de cuidado, como Amelia Hatcher, a quien se le conoce como "La Reina del Desorden," unos consejos sencillos facilitan enormemente el proceso.

Ella reconoce que la sola idea de conservar el hogar en perfecto estado todos los días parece inalcanzable para mucha gente, así que recomienda comenzar enfocándonos en el orden.

"Desorden es cualquier cosa que cause frustración, ansiedad o caos en tu vida. Te consume completamente la energía. Puede ser el montón de papeles en tu escritorio; un altero de ropa de lavandería; el lugar donde dejas todo, como la mesa de la cocina, eso definitivamente sólo causa estrés."

Amelia también recomienda limpiar y organizar las áreas una por una, para evitar abrumarse.

Hatcher fue cautivada por su profesión hace unos cinco años, cuando empezó a ayudarle a su familia y sus amistades. Dice que para otros cuidadores, deshacerse del desorden no sólo ayuda a eliminar el caos, sino que también tiene consecuencias positivas en la salud y la movilidad.

"Te tenido casos en los que se ha caído la gente, se ha roto la cadera, y realmente no está segura en su hogar. Así que mi meta es ir y mejorar las cosas para que se pueda acceder mejor a todas partes, algo como abrir pasillos, tal vez una silla de ruedas."

Hatcher dice que los medicamentos viejos deben ser tirados adecuadamente, y los documentos que contengan información personal y que ya no se necesiten deben triturarse para evitar el robo de identidad.
