El Programa “Tax-Aide” se alista y se adelanta 6 meses a la Temporada de Impuestos

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – La Fundación AARP está lanzando su llamado para reclutar voluntarios para su exitoso programa Tax-Aide, que cada primavera ofrece servicios gratuitos para la preparación de impuestos.

Héctor Chao, voluntario de Tax-Aide desde hace largo tiempo, dice que no hace falta ser contador o experto preparador de impuestos para participar como voluntario, porque todos reciben un intensivo entrenamiento respaldado por el IRS.

Desde sus inicios el programa, que lleva ya 51 años, ha ayudado a más de 68 millones de personas a llenar sus formularios de impuestos. Tan solo en 2018, quienes han usado el servicio recibieron 1.3 billones de dólares en reembolsos del impuesto por ingresos, y más de 213 en créditos de impuestos por ingresos obtenidos.

Héctor Chao, un auxiliar voluntario en Tax-Aide, dice que no hace falta ser contador o preparador de impuestos para inscribirse – porque todos los voluntarios reciben un intensivo entrenamiento respaldado por el IRS.

“Tomamos un curso y luego, si pasamos el examen, se nos asigna para hacer un trabajo. Así que es un reto, y además nos permite ayudarle a alguien.”

El año pasado casi 3 mil voluntarios ayudaron a casi 180 mil californianos a llenar sus declaraciones estatal y federal. Hay 381 locaciones de “Tax-Aide” en California, incluyendo muchas en centros para personas mayores y en bibliotecas. Para mayor información, visite

“Normalmente esto tiene lugar sólo durante la temporada de impuestos, que va de febrero a abril. Sin embargo, durante el resto del año hay un programa continuo para personas cuyas declaraciones de impuestos necesiten modificaciones.”

A nivel nacional, el programa tax-Aide se ofrece en casi 5 mil sitios, donde más de 35 mil voluntarios atienden a más de 2.5 millones de contribuyentes cada año.
